FIT studio’s wellness centre offers a wealth of therapy modalities to restore and improve the function and health of your body. Our services include; physiotherapy, chiropractic, muscle activation techniques, and registered massage therapy. Our highly educated medical staff offers the highest levels of service and client satisfaction and can assure that one of our modalities is the right fit for you. Our therapists work synergistically with our trainers so we can take the restorative properties from of therapy and transfer that to corrective exercise on the gym floor where physical health is sustained.
As a physiotherapy graduate from McGill University, Tiana began her practice in Montréal, Quebec gaining experience in a sport therapy private clinic where she worked alongside well-known and advanced senior physiotherapists. Tiana has further specialized her practice in concussion rehabilitation, completing seminars offered by University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre and through ImPACT. She currently works in a functional neurology clinic and is being mentored in this field. Tiana bases her physiotherapy treatments on hands-on manual therapy techniques. She brings a wealth of athletic knowledge, experience and understanding of the body and incorporates this into every treatment. She is currently working through her levels of manual therapy and has ambitions to begin her doctorate in functional neurology in Winter 2014.
Outside of physiotherapy Tiana is trained in a number of disciplines including classical dance, Muay Thai, professional wrestling, yoga, aerial gymnastics, and has completed certifications to teach many of these disciplines. She is bilingual in French and English. Tiana truly believes in the individuality of each patient’s body and works to identify the root cause of pain or discomfort by combining Eastern philosophy of mind-body connection with Western treatment techniques.

Marcin gained his Master’s degree in Physiotherapy and Psychology in Poland. Before he arrived to Canada he worked at Neurosurgery Ward in Poland. Since he came to Canada in 2001, he has been working in multiple clinical settings including private practice, home care, retirement and long term care facilities (including Baycrest in Toronto) with diverse cases of musculoskeletal injuries related to work, sport, and motor vehicle accidents. His unique approach and determination allow addressing the clients with chronic conditions that had been unsuccessfully treated before. He chose Barrie to establish IAM Physiotherapy clinic as he believes that this city is going to continue to grow to become the centre of Simcoe region.

Peter Khang is a graduate from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. A Sports Therapist specializing in neuromuscular techniques, Chinese meridian therapy and nutritional balance for optimal sports performance. As well, a Registered Massage Therapist licensed within the province of Ontario. He has studied and incorporated an Asian based biomechanical system for human movement. This allows a unique perspective of functional biomechanics applied in all sports, to utilize the minimum amount of force to dominate an opponent, incorporating destabilizing/impact vs stabilizing/deflecting techniques. Peter is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), an international authority on strength and conditioning; supporting and disseminating research-based knowledge and its practical application to improve athletic performance and fitness.
Dr. Robert Garofalo graduated with clinic honours as a Doctor of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and has an Honours degree in Kinesiology from York University. Dr. Garofalo was a proud recipient of the Orthotic Group Excellence in Biomechanics Scholarship Award during his second year of study at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Dr. Garofalo is a certified Active Release Technique® provider, a certified Medical Acupuncture provider, and a certified Personal Trainer. During his final year at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Dr. Garofalo was the on-site athletic therapist for the Markham Waxers Junior “A” hockey club. Dr. Garofalo has always been involved in a variety of sports which fuels his passion for treating athletic-related injuries. Dr. Garofalo specializes in the human neuromusculoskeletal system. He has a special interest and extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of sport and athletic related soft tissue (muscles, tendons and ligaments), nerve, and joint-related injuries in patients of all ages and performance levels. His most recent training consisted of him being selectively chosen to participate in the “Advanced Assessment and Treatment of NHL Players” continuing education course. Dr. Garofalo worked alongside the leading practitioners of his profession while treating top NHL athletes and now uses what he has gained from this course into his everyday practice.
Dr. Garofalo continues to strive for excellence by constantly remaining up-to-date on evidence-based research through reading journal articles and various texts. Also, participating in post-graduate studies such as soft tissue techniques, orthopaedics, rehabilitation, and sport-specific training ensures that Dr. Garofalo continues to provide the upmost care and service to his patients.
